Indications: Helps to Support Liver Health. Packaging/Size: 90 Tablets Picrorhiza kurroa has been used traditionally as a liver tonic for liver cleansing, jaundice, and biliousness. Picrorhiza kurroa is a known hepatoprotective plant and has been studied in experimental and clinical situtations. Chicory has been used traditionally for treating jaundice and liver conditions. Researchers isolated a phenolic compound, esculetin, from the roots and confirmed hepatoprotectant activity against paracetamol and carbon tetrachloride-induced hepatic damage. Hepatoprotective activity has been linked to the ability of an aqueous extract of the root to inhibit oxidative degradation of DNA in tissue debris. Bacopa monniera Nir Brahmi ( Bacopa monniera Linn.) is a reputed nervine tonic in Ayurvedic literature. Emblica officinalis or Amla as it is commonly known contains a unique spectrum of powerful antioxidants. It contains Vitamin C in natural form and ellagic acid, bioflavonoids, and tannins. Andrographis paniculata and one of its actives; andrographolide was shown to produce a significant increase in bile flow. Bile is produced in the liver and stored in the gallbladder and aids in digestion. Terminalia chebula is reported to improve the secretory status of Brunner’s glands involved in the protection against duodenal ulcer (Nadar and Pillai 1989). Ginger is believed to reduce nausea by increasing digestive fluids and absorbing and neutralizing toxins and stomach acid. Studies show that ginger may help reduce cholesterol and arterial plaque by transporting high density lipoproteins to the liver where they can be metabolized and eliminated. Eclipta alba has been used traditionally as a liver tonic. The hepatoprotective effect of the ethanol/water (1:1) extract of Eclipta alba was studied at subcellular levels against (CCl4) -induced hepatotoxicity. The loss of hepatic lysomal acid phosphatase and alkaline phosphatase by (CCl4) was significantly restored by Ea. The study shows that hepatoprotective activity of Ea is by regulating the levels of hepatic microsomal herb metabolising enzymes. Terminalia arjuna was shown in cases of cirrhosis of the liver that the bark has a tonic effect and induces a decrease in heart rate and blood pressure. Boerhaavia diffusa is used traditionally as a diuretic and also for detoxification.
