Human Growth Hormone
|
|
Human growth hormone is produced in the pituitary gland. In response to the presence of growth hormone, the liver produces a substance known as IGF-1. One of the functions of this hormone is to inform the cells to burn fat for energy rather than to store it. Clinical trials with injected growth hormone have shown potent effects within weeks to lower fat reserves, increase muscle mass and tone, thicken skin and improve hair condition. There is a direct connection between the level of this hormone in a human’s body and its age. Some scientists believe that if this hormone can be kept at the levels of youth, then the aging process may be slowed down.
